The S.M.A.R.T. School program was operated at the FBR Branch Boys & Girls Club in the summers of 2007, 2008 and 2009 while I was the Program Director for that location. Through the program we were able to have DC Grays Baseball players at our club 4 days a week to teach fundamental baseball skills to our youth along with basic physical ed. drills, ages 5 to 13. I am a huge supporter of Antonio and the S.M.A.R.T. programs because he has always displayed the upmost professionalism and passion for helping the youth that need us the most. His programs are diverse and effective and create real results. The youth that participated in his program were engaged in physical activity, had fun and gained an appreciation for baseball–a sport that most of them had no experience with. There are a lot of solid character and leadership skills that can be taught in the game of baseball and Antonio is doing his part to make positive impact on youth’s lives all over DC.
